Australia Day is the first public holiday of the new year. It’s a time for Australians to celebrate what they love about their country. Many Australians go camping in the outback, in rainforests or to the beach for the weekend. Others take time out to catch up with family and friends by having a barbecue or other shared meal.

From 4 January 2021 the Jobkeeper rates are reduced to $1,000 per fortnight for Tier 1, and $650 for Tier 2. These rates are in place until 28 March 2021.
